What is Kinesiotape ?

1/26/2015

PictureA Few Examples of Taping Technique
Kinesio Taping began more than 25 years ago by Dr. Kenzo Kase (Chiropractor).  Kineso tape is distinctly different to athletic taping as it allows for greater range of motion and is designed to improve circulation and assist in pain management. Quality tape products have elastic properties, are latex free and breathable. In addition it is of medical grade and the thickness and weight approximates that of the skin.  The tape is easily tolerated by patients and and can be worn for 3 - 5 days.

The tape has numerous benefits and is usually used in combination with other therapies in a clinic setting.  Athletes also use taping techniques to enhance performance and recovery times.  At Healthview we often use a brand of tape called Rock Tape as the practitioners like the quality and the adhesive properties over some other brands.
