Chiropractic is more than an adjustment (spinal manipulative therapy). Furthermore, chiropractors treat more than backs, such as headaches, foot pain, shoulder pain, arm pain, sprains, strains, sports injuries and more.
Dr. Joe Hawkins, BSc., D.C.
Dr. Hawkins brings with him 10 years of clinical experience in operating a multidisciplinary health clinic. His back ground is in integrative medicine, with a focus on nutrition, and the politics of natural health. While 80% of his practice is focused on acute injuries, he also has a clinical focus on preventative and natural health practices. As a Chiropractor Dr. Hawkins intent is to treat the whole body and the whole person.Specific techniques used by Dr. Hawkins are primarily based on; Diversified spinal manipulative therapy, acupressure therapy, activator therapy, cranial sacral therapy, with extensive bio mechanical analysis used to identify appropriate therapy specific exercises.
In addition Dr. Hawkins takes X-Ray's as appropriate for each case. Not every patient receives an X-ray unless clinically required.Furthermore Dr. Hawkins will also utilize orthopedic examination, neurological examination, and a proper oral history to discover the underlying cause of the condition.
Most patients are better in as little as a few treatments and typically not more than a dozen treatments. Some patients according to their condition may require more extensive treatment that may last weeks or months.Dr. Hawkins welcomes any and all questions from patients. He encourages patients to get engaged in the process of healing and ask as many questions as possible. Dr. Hawkins believes in the team approach, and that includes the team of the Doctor and the patient working together in whatever is in the patient's best interest.
