Release entrapped nerves, vasculature, and lymphatics
Re-establish strength and function of soft tissues
Active Release Technique (ART)
A treatment that focuses on relieving tissue tension
The theory is that tissue tension (fibrosis/adhesion's) can develop in tissues as a result of overload, such as repetitive use. These disorders may lead to muscular weakness, numbness, aching, tingling, and burning sensations.
The clinician uses manual therapy techniques to apply variable compressive, tensile, and shear motions. This can be done by the practitioner using their hands, a tool or a modality. The tissues are then moved from a shortened to lengthened position.
Active Release Techniques (ART) is a soft tissue technique that focuses on relieving tissue tension.
Mobility and range of motion exercises are recognized as an important component of ART Therapy.
ART is effective for active people of every level. Treat and maintain your mobility with ART.
